We're saying "I do" surrounded by the peaks and forests of the Bulkley Valley. Here's where to be, and when.
Ceremony at 4:00 PM

Cocktail / semi-formal with mountain practicality — bring a layer, and choose shoes that handle grass & gravel.
Smithers sits along the Yellowhead Highway 16 in northern B.C. Most guests will fly in through Vancouver and connect to Smithers — then drive, or hop on our shuttle.
Air Canada flies the Vancouver (YVR) ↔ Smithers (YYD) route — currently the only scheduled service into Smithers, roughly two flights a day, about 1 hr 35 min in the air. Connect through Vancouver from wherever you're starting.
YVR → YYD · Air Canada ~1h 35m 5 min from townTerrace's Northwest Regional Airport is about a 1.5-hour scenic drive west of Smithers and often has more flight options and fares (Air Canada & WestJet from Vancouver). A good plan B if YYD times don't line up.
YXT · ~1.5 hr drive More flightsNational and Enterprise have counters right inside the Smithers terminal, across from baggage claim. Recommended if you'd like to explore the valley on your own time — the venue is a scenic drive out of town and there's plenty to see.
We're running a guest shuttle on the wedding weekend between Smithers Airport, the downtown hotels, and Rocky Ridge Resort — so you can relax and leave the driving (and the celebrating) to us.
The resort is a drive out of town, so most guests base themselves in Smithers (about 5 minutes from the airport) and travel out for the celebration. A few favourites, from full-service to cozy.
The largest and most full-service option in town, with a conference centre, on-site dining and concierge. Our suggested home base for guests who want everything in one place. (We'll add a room-block note here if we set one up — ask for the "Jessica & Dennis wedding" rate when booking.)
Right on Main Street, walkable to shops, cafés and breweries. Friendly and well-reviewed.
Reliable highway-side chain hotel with free parking and easy access in and out of town.
Comfortable, value-friendly, walkable to downtown — a solid pick for a shorter stay.
A homey, quiet B&B with a hot tub and communal spaces — lovely for couples or a small group.
Close to the airport and known for an airport shuttle — handy if you'd rather not rent a car.
September is gorgeous in the Bulkley Valley — fall colours, fewer crowds, and the rivers running with steelhead. If you're staying a few days, here's where to wander.
A short walk to a dramatic twin waterfall beneath the Kathlyn Glacier — the postcard view of Hudson Bay Mountain.
A provincial park famous for 50-million-year-old fossil beds you can see in the canyon walls. Quick and unforgettable.
The local landmark. Hiking and big-sky lookouts in the shoulder season, 20 km west of town.
The Bulkley River roars through a narrow gorge where Witsuwit'en fishers net salmon — a timeless local tradition.
A world-renowned Indigenous heritage site of towering totem poles, a carving house and museum, about an hour west.
Alpine-themed Main Street with great shops, a Saturday market, Smithers Brewing Co. and excellent local eats.
It's a mountain town in early fall — crisp, beautiful, and a little unpredictable. Plan for cool evenings and a chance of rain, and you'll be golden.
Evenings drop quickly once the sun's behind the peaks — the reception will feel a lot cooler than the afternoon ceremony. A warm layer isn't optional, it's the move.
Kindly respond by August 1, 2027. One form per household is perfect.
Rocky Ridge Resort is a scenic drive out of Smithers along Highway 16 / Kitseguecla Lake Road. Give yourself extra time, and remember the last stretch is rural — fuel up and download directions before you go, since cell service can be patchy.
Either works. A rental gives you freedom to explore the valley; the shuttle means you can fully relax and enjoy the wine. If you're flying in and out just for the wedding, the shuttle is the easy choice — just reserve a seat in your RSVP.
Mountain formal: cocktail or semi-formal, with a warm layer for the evening and shoes that handle grass and gravel. September nights get cool fast once the sun drops behind the peaks.
Please do! Smithers is a beautiful basecamp — waterfalls, fossil beds, river canyons, breweries and big mountain views. See the "Things to do" section for ideas, and book accommodation early since the town is small.
Your presence in the mountains is the greatest gift. If you'd like to give something more, we'll share details closer to the date.
